Musical balloons

This an activity I was dying to try before I finally had a good day to do the set up!!

Materials:
Balloons
Different items to put into balloons
Baggies

Basically you fill two balloons with one said item (water, sand, beads, beans (though the last two are confusing lol!!) rice, bells, whatever else you think of! Blow up with air and tye off! Have a baggie of each item on hand to "compare" lay out your set up, and watch the magic happen!!! (I highly suggest doing 2 sets of balloons only for under 2, and adding one more each time you set this up!)

Even baby b got in on the fun!!! He was 4 months old, and highly supervised when holding a balloon. :)

After the activity was 'matched' up, I allowed a to cut open the balloons, checking for accuracy, and sorted the items back into their bags... Makeing this a huge project!!!

Wow! That means we learnt science, music (beats), patterning, matching, sensory, large motor (shaking) small motor(cutting) sorting (which is early math skills) and he gained independence and self esteem in one activity!!! B benefitted from lots of sensory (noise) and gained some much needed rattling skills!!! (cause and effect)

I hope you enjoy this activity!! Happy playing!!!
